[Japan Championships] Free Distribution of 40,000 Uchiwa Fans for Heat Countermeasures!

The 110th Japan Athletics Championships will be held at Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya from June 12-14, 2026. As high temperatures are expected, the Japan Association of Athletics Federations advises attendees to take heat countermeasures, such as staying hydrated and taking breaks. To support this, 40,000 cheering uchiwa fans will be distributed for free. The fans come in two designs: the tournament's key visual and a collaboration with the anime film 'Hyakuemu.' The back of the fans can be decorated with messages at a dedicated booth. The event will strictly monitor the WBGT. At 25 degrees or higher, hydration opportunities are provided. At 28 degrees or higher, warnings are issued. If the WBGT reaches 31 degrees or higher, competitions will be suspended or postponed in principle.
