Tickets go on sale June 4 (Thursday) at 10:00!
A message from Mariko Senju: "I have dreamed of playing the Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky violin concertos since I first held a violin as a child. My image of these two pieces has evolved as I have grown older. The story of Mendelssohn unfolding by a beautiful lake, and the abyss of Tchaikovsky heard while standing in a deep forest, move my heart today. I will stand on stage with Maestro Naoto Otomo, whom I respect, enveloped by the rich sound of the Japan Philharmonic, with whom I have cultivated music since my debut. The instrument I will play is my beloved Stradivarius 'Duranti.' I am preparing for this day by polishing 51 years of memories into 'sound.' I look forward to creating a 'once-in-a-lifetime timbre' to share with everyone in the audience on this day."
