What is GCAS?
GCAS® (Global Communication Assessment System) is a speaking test developed and operated by the Japan Foundation for Testing English Proficiency, specifically designed for global business contexts. It comprehensively evaluates English communication skills—such as the ability to convey ideas, explain logically, and interact effectively—through practical tasks like presentations, negotiations, and role-plays.
Aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), GCAS assesses performance across eight dimensions, including expressiveness, logical reasoning, and negotiation skills. As a tool for visualizing training outcomes and enhancing the quality of talent development, GCAS has been adopted by numerous corporations.
