Taiwan Excellence will participate in the exhibition '2026 Taiwan Expo,' held for three days from Wednesday, July 15 to Friday, July 17, at the Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza in Shinjuku, Tokyo, by setting up the 'Taiwan Excellence Pavilion.' The pavilion, themed 'Connecting with Trust, Bonding with Innovation,' will feature a space inspired by the shared Japanese-Taiwanese cultural motif of 'connection,' showcasing Taiwan's cutting-edge technology and high-quality products.

On the opening day, Wednesday, July 15, a 'Taiwan Excellence Special Stage' was held on the main stage, featuring guest talent and model Yuumami. In a school-style format called 'Taiwan Excellence Future Academy,' Yuumami took on the role of a 'student' while representatives from exhibiting manufacturers acted as 'teachers,' allowing hands-on experience with three Taiwan Excellence award-winning products. Additionally, Yuumami shared memories of her time in Taiwan and participated in a photo session with the official mascot character 'Fukubear,' delighting the audience.

Following the stage event, an open viewing session was held, allowing attendees to see, touch, and experience the award-winning products firsthand. Through this event, Taiwan Excellence aims to communicate the innovation and quality of its award-winning products to the Japanese market and work toward realizing a richer, more sustainable future shared by Japan and Taiwan.

On stage, Yuumami and 'Fukubear,' the official brand character of Taiwan Excellence, made their appearance. Yuumami greeted the audience with 'Nice to meet you all today!' and instantly warmed the atmosphere with her cheerful personality. Her first meeting with the mascot Fukubear brought smiles, and their well-timed banter drew warm laughter from the audience.

Next, Brian from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council took the stage as the 'principal.' He opened with a welcome speech in Japanese: 'We are very happy to welcome our special transfer student, Yuumami. The theme of Taiwan Excellence is 'Connecting with Trust, Bonding with Innovation.' I hope you can feel the connection between Taiwan and Japan through today's lessons.'

Following this, Yuumami was presented with a plush toy of Taiwan's popular character 'Fukubear.' In response, Yuumami said with a smile, 'Thank you for the greeting in Japanese! The plush toy is super cute—I'm really happy!'

During the subsequent 'Taiwan Talk' segment, when asked about her experiences visiting Taiwan, Yuumami reminisced, 'The food and desserts were delicious, and it was so much fun! Everyone was so warm, kind, and welcoming.' She added, 'I came here today to learn about Taiwanese products, and I know there's still so much I don't know. I'm excited to study hard today!' The audience remained in a warm and cheerful mood throughout.

Yuumami tried using the translator in conversation and exclaimed, 'Wow, amazing!' at seeing real-time translation through the transparent display. When she demonstrated the tongue twister 'Kaeru pyoko pyoko' to test translation accuracy, the audience burst into laughter. 'The fact that my speech is instantly translated right here, across this distance, shows how advanced the technology is!' she commented, clearly impressed by its performance.

She added, 'It would be so convenient at airports!' and 'It would be great if we could talk with people from different countries. This type isn't common in Japan—I think it's something new.' She also said, 'When traveling overseas, I sometimes feel anxious during immigration checks, so understanding the language like this would make me really happy.' She clearly appreciated the product's potential in international travel and cross-cultural communication.
