Gajyumaru no Ki LLC (Headquarters: Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City; Representative: Fumiya Nakano) will open 'Gajyumaru Oguni,' an after-school day service for children with severe physical and mental disabilities and medical care needs, in Oguni, Minami Ward, Fukuoka City, starting August 1, 2026.

In Fukuoka Prefecture, the number of after-school day services available for children with severe disabilities remains insufficient, with significant disparities across regions. 'Gajyumaru Oguni' will address this challenge as a specialized facility providing integrated support—from medical care to therapy and developmental education—under a multidisciplinary team comprising nurses, childcare workers, and rehabilitation professionals such as physical therapists.

Background of the Opening

In recent years, advances in medical technology have led to a continuous increase in the number of children requiring medical care. However, after-school day services capable of providing medical care such as sputum suction, tube feeding, and oxygen management are insufficient nationwide, with notable disparities even within Fukuoka City.

To date, our company has provided support for children with severe disabilities and medical care needs from our base in Hakozaki, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City. Under our vision of 'a society where both parents and children can walk forward while envisioning their future,' we previously opened a facility in Hakata Ward in April 2026. Now, we have decided to establish a new location in Minami Ward to further address regional disparities in support availability.

Three Key Features of Gajyumaru Oguni

Multidisciplinary Team of Nurses, Childcare Workers, and Rehabilitation Specialists

At 'Gajyumaru Oguni,' nurses (with at least two on-site), childcare workers, and rehabilitation specialists—including physical therapists (PT), occupational therapists (OT), and speech-language-hearing therapists (ST)—will work together as an integrated team. By combining safe medical care with specialized therapeutic and educational approaches, we aim to comprehensively draw out each child's potential.

Specialized Therapeutic and Developmental Support

PT, OT, and ST professionals will collaborate to provide individualized support programs that integrate approaches to motor function, cognitive development, and communication skills. We focus on developmental education that goes beyond mere childcare, emphasizing the steady advancement of each child's development.

Furthermore, by assigning nurses to handle medical care, we have established a division of labor that allows rehabilitation specialists to fully concentrate on supporting children's developmental progress.

Individualized Support Through a Small-Group Setting

We adopt a small-group model to provide meticulous, individualized support. We carefully assess each child's disability characteristics, developmental stage, and medical needs, creating a safe and reassuring environment based on customized support plans. We prioritize dedicated staff time for each child, ensuring they are not lost within a group setting.

Message from the Representative

In Fukuoka Prefecture, after-school day services where children with severe disabilities or medical care needs can attend with peace of mind are still insufficient, resulting in disparities in accessible support across regions.

Under our vision of 'a society where both parents and children can walk forward while envisioning their future,' we have continued to provide close support to children and their families, primarily from our base in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City.

'Gajyumaru Oguni' is a new hub established to extend our proven support model to a new region and address regional disparities in service availability. We aim to create a place where, even with severe disabilities or medical care needs, both parents and children can live with peace of mind and envision their future—together with the local community.
