Mulchar Corporation (based in Fukuoka; Representative: Tenka Takai) officially launched 'aiRosetta,' a multilingual DTP automation plugin for Adobe Illustrator, on June 2, 2026. The tool compresses the vast amount of manual work DTP operators have spent on multilingual projects into a two-button operation. It is equipped with features to record formatting information—such as font, text size, text color, stroke color, and stroke width—into a translation file and automatically restore it after translation. A 30-day free trial (no credit card required) is available to test all features.
Generate translation files with formatting information in one click. Apply translated files in bulk. Formatting is restored, and fonts are automatically replaced.
Background of Development
Mulchar Corporation has provided one-stop translation and multilingual DTP services for over 12 years. In multilingual projects involving dozens of pages of brochures, overnight work was common. The repetitive tasks of copying and pasting translations and manually adjusting fonts, sizes, and colors have been a long-standing challenge.
The question of why they spent days on 'advanced copy-paste' work, which was neither translation nor design, sparked the development. Because no such tool existed in the market, they decided to develop it themselves. Based on 12 years of field experience, they created 'aiRosetta' as a tool they would actually use themselves.
What aiRosetta Solves
[Conventional Workflow (Manual)] (1) Open Illustrator file, copy and paste text one by one to create a translation file, and hand it to the translator. (2) Receive translated files, copy translated text one by one and paste into Illustrator to replace Japanese text with foreign language. (3) Manually set and adjust replaced fonts, text sizes, text colors, stroke colors, and stroke widths one by one.
[Workflow with aiRosetta] (1) Automatically generate a translation file with formatting info with one click of the 'Export Translation File' button. (2) Pass the file to the translator or translation agency to request translation. (3) Just click the 'Apply Translated File' button and select the file to complete text replacement and formatting restoration in one go.
It records formatting info—font, text size, color, stroke color, and width—into the translation file and automatically restores them post-translation, simultaneously reducing human errors and drastically shortening work time.
