SATANAMA LLC (Founders: Satoshi Miya, Maiko Kurata), which operates "SATANAMA Lab" focusing on yoga x upcycling x creativity, will open a pop-up yoga studio in collaboration with the co-working space "co-ba Yokohama Kannai" in Yokohama, Kannai. As the first phase of the company's new business, regular yoga classes will be offered every Wednesday starting at 7 PM from August 5, 2026. Utilizing the "everyday space" of a co-working space, we aim to pursue a new form of community and wellness originating from Yokohama, Kannai, where people can harmonize their mind and body while working and connect with others.
Statement
Background of the Pop-Up Yoga Studio Opening
Satoshi Miya and Maiko Kurata, founders of SATANAMA LLC, have been involved in the yoga scene for many years as a yoga studio owner and yoga instructor, respectively. From this experience, the concept of "upcycling used yoga mats to create items that complement daily life" was born, leading to the launch of the SATANAMA Lab brand and the establishment of SATANAMA LLC.
The product business of SATANAMA Lab was born from the perspective of bringing yoga philosophy and materials into daily life "Off The Mat." Through upcycled products such as multi-pots, baskets, and keychains, we have attempted to connect yoga with everyday living.
This pop-up yoga studio is an initiative to develop the "On The Mat" yoga experience itself as a business. One catalyst for this was the temporary closure of "Brighton Studio Daikanyama," a yoga studio managed by founder Satoshi Miya, on May 31, 2026, due to redevelopment in the Shibuya area. From this experience, we decided to move forward with a business in a "pop-up format" that can be developed while supporting various communities, without being tied to the operational form of a studio with a specific location. Through the production of the SATANAMA Lab brand, we will pursue a new yoga provision model that is free from location constraints.
Choice of "co-ba Yokohama Kannai" as the Venue
The chosen stage is the co-working space "co-ba Yokohama Kannai," which opened on the 11th floor of the complex facility "BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai," newly established in front of JR Yokohama Kannai Station this year.
Co-working spaces are places where individuals, freelancers, and startups gather daily, and are spaces where people with diverse backgrounds connect loosely around the axis of "work." By bringing the "yoga" experience into this space once a week, SATANAMA aims to create an environment where working people can naturally experience mind-body wellness.
The target audience is not limited to co-ba members but also includes people living or commuting in the Yokohama, Kannai area, and the local community. Centered around yoga, we will foster a new community model that connects space, people, and lifestyle from the town of Kannai.
