Taki Chemical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture; President and CEO: Katsuhiko Taki; hereinafter "the Company") has concluded a joint research agreement with Osaka City Waterworks Bureau on an environmentally conscious water treatment coagulant called 'Membrane-Use PAC'. The research period is scheduled to run from August 2026 to March 2031, a duration of four years and seven months.
Newly Developed Product: Membrane-Use PAC
Membrane-Use PAC is an environmentally friendly water treatment coagulant newly developed by the Company, designed to suppress membrane fouling and improve filtered water quality. Its application has the potential to reduce the number of membranes required per unit volume of water and lower membrane treatment power consumption, thereby significantly reducing membrane treatment costs. The Company has already conducted demonstration tests at selected water purification plants, achieving favorable results and valuable insights.
Under this joint research, the Company will apply its Membrane-Use PAC to Yodo River source water at the Osaka City Waterworks Bureau's membrane filtration test field. The study will verify optimal operating conditions and evaluate potential reductions in water treatment running costs anticipated upon full-scale implementation.
