Taga Corporation (CEO: Nobuyoshi Taga), a sewing company based in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture, has launched a crowdfunding project on the support purchasing service "Makuake" for cargo pants using new green denim, based on the French military's masterpiece "M-47 late model" cargo pants.
During the "Coming Soon" period before its launch, this project garnered 369 "favorite" registrations. On the first day of its launch, it achieved a total support purchase amount of 1,188,000 yen (as of 7:00 PM on June 28th), reaching 1,188% of its goal, indicating strong support from many backers.

Delivering pants that only an OEM factory can create
Taga Corporation has been engaged in OEM production of sewn products in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture for many years.
The environment surrounding domestic sewing factories is becoming increasingly challenging each year. Amidst numerous issues such as the expansion of overseas production and the aging of sewing workers, we are undertaking this crowdfunding challenge as an initiative to deliver "products that only a factory can create" directly to our customers.
We have previously carried out several projects, primarily focused on cargo pants, and have received support from many backers.
This M-47 model project can be considered the culmination of our efforts.

The globally beloved masterpiece military pants "M-47"
The M-47 is a cargo pant adopted by the French army in the late 1940s.
It is characterized by its large cargo pockets and powerful silhouette, and continues to be highly regarded by military fans and vintage enthusiasts worldwide even today.
However, the original model's proportions can be too wide for modern everyday wear.
Therefore, for this model, we have rebuilt the silhouette based on the M-47 late model to be more wearable in contemporary times.
While retaining its rugged presence, we aim to create pants that can be worn and loved for a long time in daily life.
New Green Denim and Limited Gray Nep Denim
For this project, we have adopted selvedge green denim woven on an old-fashioned power loom.
It features a unique uneven texture and three-dimensionality, expressing the rugged atmosphere characteristic of military pants.
Additionally, as a limited quantity special edition, we are also offering a model using gray nep denim from Yoshiwa Orimono Co., Ltd.
It has a rougher appearance than the green denim and is a perfect match for the M-47, resulting in an excellent finish.

"Rugged, yet light."
The fabric used this time has a unique uneven texture.
Through repeated fittings, we found it to be comfortable, contrary to its visually substantial appearance.
The unevenness of the fabric reduces skin contact, and combined with the relaxed silhouette derived from the M-47, it can be worn relatively comfortably even in hot weather.
We aimed to create rugged military pants that people would want to wear continuously in their daily lives.
