Osaka Jogakuin Awarded the 18th Japan Marketing Award 2026 Regional Award (Kansai)

Osaka Jogakuin University and Osaka Jogakuin Junior College have been awarded the Regional Award (Kansai District) at the 18th Japan Marketing Award 2026 for their reform slogan, "As a women's university, sending 'vocal women' into the world," announced in August 2025, amidst a climate where the raison d'être of women's universities is being questioned.

Reason for Award (From the Japan Marketing Association website) In response to the nationwide trend of women's universities becoming co-educational or ceasing recruitment, Osaka Jogakuin Educational Institution announced the slogan "As a women's university, sending 'vocal women' into the world." The institution has 141 years of history in women's education and practices education based on Christian values. In differentiating itself from other women's colleges, it focused on its unique quality of "cultivating women who can clearly state their opinions," expressing this with the bold term "vocal (yakamashii) women." This slogan refers to women who possess an awareness of issues, clearly communicate their thoughts, and take a proactive role in contributing to society and the world. This copy, possessing the frankness and strength characteristic of an Osaka-based women's college, left a strong impression not only on current students and graduates but also on society, garnering widespread empathy and response.

"Sending 'vocal women' into the world" is a phrase that represents the university's reform conviction to produce women from Osaka who have awareness of issues, communicate in their own words, and actively engage with society. As a university located in the heart of Osaka, we will further develop a learning environment connected to the world. And as a higher education institution for women, we will continue to move forward steadily, one step at a time.
