First in Japan! Student Work from Digital Game Department Exhibited at 'Digital Lab,' a Large Indie-Game Focused Facility

A student project from the Digital Game Department of the Faculty of Information Systems and Multimedia at Osaka Electro-Communication University (Neyagawa/Shijonawate, Osaka; President: Kuninari Shioda) was exhibited on April 28 (Tue) at the 'Digital Lab,' a newly established entertainment facility within Ikenotaira Hotel & Resorts (Nagano Prefecture).

This exhibition was made possible at a facility planned and managed by f4samurai, a game development company where university alumni are actively employed. The facility, which operates under the concept of 'discovering games you have never seen before,' showcases works that highlight the sensitivity of young creators.

[Overview]

'Digital Lab,' born at Ikenotaira Hotel & Resorts in Nagano Prefecture, is the first large-scale game facility in Japan focusing on indie games. It is gaining attention as a place that spotlights unique games known only to connoisseurs, including works by publishers and professional creators, as well as unreleased works, student projects, and doujin circle games.

From our university, we are exhibiting 'Key Typer,' a project that received the 'Ikenotaira Hotel Award' at the Game Creator Koshien 2025, one of Japan's largest student game contests, recognized for its high level of perfection and unique ideas. This work also won an Excellence Award at the 'Indie Games Contest Student Championship 2025' hosted by Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.
