Yamato University (Location: Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, President: Shinji Matsumoto, hereinafter referred to as "Yamato University"), operated by the West Yamato Gakuen Educational Foundation, and the Osaka Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (Headquarters: Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, Chairman: Noboru Yumoto, hereinafter referred to as "Osaka Institute of Industrial Science and Technology", abbreviated as ORIST) concluded an agreement on educational and research collaboration on July 1st, aiming to contribute to the development of local society and economy through education, research, and industrial promotion.
The Osaka Institute of Industrial Science and Technology was established in April 2017 through the integration of the "Osaka Prefectural Institute of Industrial Technology" and the "Osaka Municipal Institute of Industrial Research," with Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City as its founders. As one of the largest public testing and research institutions in western Japan supporting manufacturing and innovation by providing technical support to small and medium-sized enterprises in Osaka Prefecture, it has made significant contributions to the industry.
Yamato University promotes systematic career development support so that each student can proactively think about their future career paths and make better choices. As part of these initiatives, the university has strengthened its collaboration with the Osaka Institute of Industrial Science and Technology to expand opportunities for students in the Faculty of Science and Engineering to experience real-world research.
In the future, Yamato University will collaborate with the Osaka Institute of Industrial Science and Technology to create an environment where students can experience actual research sites. Through internships at the institute and various other practical experience opportunities, students will accumulate practical experience that cannot be gained solely through on-campus learning. This will support their career choices in various ways as science and engineering professionals, including graduate school admission and employment in research positions.
