Make Uwajima's Everyday Special with Your Design! "Uwajima Package Design Contest" Now Accepting Entries! Grand Prize Winner to Receive ¥200,000 and Product Commercialization

As part of UWAJIMA ART DESIGN WEEK 2026 UWAJIMA SIDE (UWAJIMA SIDE 2026), to be held this winter, we are hosting the "Uwajima Package Design Contest" with the aim of creating and disseminating new charms of Uwajima through design.

We are seeking designs that capture the appeal of Uwajima and Uwajima-produced citrus fruits, designs that make people want to "gift them to someone." The winning designs will be commercialized, exhibited at the Uwajima City Learning and Exchange Center during UWAJIMA SIDE 2026, and then presented to the creators along with prize money.

Application Guidelines

1. Application Period

July 10, 2026 (Fri) - September 30, 2026 (Wed) noon

2. Application Theme

Mikan Juice & Mikan Cardboard Box from Uwajima: Designs You'll Want to Gift

3. Eligibility

General/Student Division: High school students and older

Children's Division: Junior high school students and younger within Uwajima City

4. Submission Content

General/Student Division: Label designs for three types of mikan juice

Children's Division: Design for a mikan cardboard box (2kg capacity)

5. How to Apply

General/Student Division: Access the application form on the special website

Children's Division: Submit to your respective school or bring to the Uwajima ART Project Office (Uwajima City Mayor's Office)

6. Prizes

General/Student Division

Grand Prize: 1 winner ¥200,000 + finished product (mikan juice)

Excellence Award: 2 winners ¥100,000 + finished product (mikan juice)

Excellence Award [Student Category]: 1 winner ¥50,000 + finished product (mikan juice)

Excellence Award [Public Vote]: 1 winner ¥50,000 + finished product (mikan juice)

Honorable Mention: 5 or more winners finished product (mikan juice)

* High school students will receive an equivalent amount in gift certificates.

* The Grand Prize winner and two Excellence Award winners will have their designs adopted for juice labels sold by NPO Citrus Sommelier Ehime. Furthermore, winning designs may be utilized for products of other local businesses for the purpose of regional industrial promotion (prior confirmation will be made with the designer in such cases).

Children's Division

Grand Prize: 4 winners ¥10,000 in gift certificates + finished product (cardboard box with mikan design)

Excellence Award: 20 winners ¥2,000 in gift certificates + finished product (cardboard box with mikan design)

Honorable Mention: 20 or more winners finished product (miniature cardboard box)

* Judging will be conducted in four categories: preschool, lower elementary, upper elementary, and junior high school.
