Nozomigaoka Elementary School in Ogori City will hold school-wide disaster prevention and crime prevention training on June 12. In collaboration with the community development council and parents, the school will conduct grade-specific learning activities to help students perceive disasters as their own personal issues. Lower grades will learn about earthquake preparedness, while upper grades will work on safety maps and learn about safe media interaction. A handover drill simulating heavy rain disasters will also be conducted to strengthen the system for protecting students across the entire community.
