We are pleased to announce the "Naseba Naru! Yonezawa Uesugi Castle Town Run & Rogaining," a sports event designed for participants to enjoy the charms of Yonezawa in a fun and casual way.
This event offers two categories for participants to experience Yonezawa's appeal: the "Relay Marathon Division," where teams pass a baton on a circuit course around the Densho-mori area, and the "Sightseeing Rogaining Division," where teams compete for the highest total score by visiting multiple checkpoints set up throughout the city.
Participants will receive a "Yonezawa Don-don Festival Ticket" valid at the "Naseba Naru Autumn Festival" held at the same venue on the day of the event, along with sports drinks, light meals, a special clear file, and Yonezawa sweets.
Additionally, the Relay Marathon Division will provide a web certificate of record and small souvenirs from Yonezawa, while the Sightseeing Rogaining Division will offer warm refreshments at aid points accessible during the competition.
Near the finish line, in addition to the "Naseba Naru Autumn Festival," there will be booths such as a health promotion booth by the Yonezawa Sales Office of Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company, allowing attendees to enjoy Yonezawa all day long.
Both divisions are open to team participation with family, friends, colleagues, or community members, as well as individual participation.
With timing and scorekeeping in place, participants can aim for personal bests in a serious endeavor, or enjoy the event at their own pace while having fun running with team members and exploring Yonezawa's sights. It's an event with many ways to enjoy it.
On a refreshing autumn day, please come and savor the charms of Yonezawa while breaking a comfortable sweat.
