[June 12-14] 31st Manyo Utamatsuri and Firefly Viewing Festival to be Held at Manriki Park, Yamanashi City

The Manyo Utamatsuri and Firefly Viewing Festival Executive Committee (based at the Tourism Division of Yamanashi City Hall) will hold the 31st 'Manyo Utamatsuri and Firefly Viewing Festival' at 'Manyo no Mori' in Manriki Park, Yamanashi City, for three days from June 12 (Fri) to 14 (Sun).

Event Overview - Dates: June 12 (Fri) - 14 (Sun), 2026, 10:00 - 21:00 (12th: 19:00 - 21:00) - Location: Manriki Park 'Manyo no Mori' (1827 Manriki, Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture) - Admission: Free (some paid activities) - Access: Approx. 15-minute walk from JR Yamanashi-shi Station, approx. 20-minute drive from Katsunuma IC (Chuo Expressway)

Program Highlights 1. Firefly Viewing & Guided Tours: Conducted by city volunteer guides. 2. Manyo Poetry Recitation & Performances: Includes drum performances, appearances by tourism ambassadors, and community talent showcases. 3. Booths and Exhibitions: Features local restaurants, a market (13th only), game corners, tea ceremonies (13th & 14th), and fire/police vehicle displays.

【Purpose of the Event】 This festival aims to foster the 'heart of beautiful town-building' by preserving the natural environment where fireflies live and promoting cultural heritage through the recitation of Manyo poetry.
