In Tokushima City, the great air raid in the early morning of July 4, 1945, resulted in approximately 1,000 deaths, 2,000 injuries, and 70,000 victims, with about 60% of the old Tokushima city area burned down. However, the memory of the Tokushima air raid, which caused such great damage, is fading with the passage of time.

We must convey the horrors of war and the preciousness of peace to the next generation and renew our resolve never to let such a war happen again.

Tokushima City will hold a talk session and outreach class for children themed "Thinking About War and Peace" to encourage reflection on the importance of peace.
