The Furutsu Hachimanyama Site is the only national historic site from the Yayoi period in Niigata City. The Yayoi Hill Exhibition Hall, located at the foot of the site, offers ancient experience programs. The popular fire-making experience is free and takes about 20 minutes. It is open to everyone from elementary school students to adults, and no reservation is required, even on weekdays. The program runs from June 1 to June 30, 2026. Additionally, visitors can try making clay bells, whistles, and masks for 200 yen. Through the Furutsu Hachimanyama Site, visitors can learn about living history from the Paleolithic to the Heian period, making it a great destination for individuals and families.
