To broadcast the richness of manga expression from Niigata, the 'Niigata Manga Awards' are being held.

The Niigata Manga Awards are judged by manga artists associated with Niigata and editors from famous manga magazines, transcending the boundaries of publishing houses.

Furthermore, a new 'Comicalization Category' has been established this time, which involves adapting award-winning works from the Niigata Citizens' Literature Awards into comics.

We sincerely look forward to your masterpieces again this year!

Must arrive between Monday, June 1, 2026, and Thursday, September 24, 2026.

New! Niigata Manga Awards x Niigata Citizens' Literature: 'Comicalization Category'

Starting this year, the 'Comicalization Category' has been established to adapt award-winning works from the Niigata Citizens' Literature Light Novel Category into comics.

This is a rare category among manga awards run by local governments and publishers, allowing even those who are not good at creating stories to participate!

The original light novels are currently available on the official website!

Main Prizes

[Niigata Manga Award] 1 winner: 300,000 yen prize

[Children's Niigata Manga Award] 1 winner: 20,000 yen book card (selected from applicants in the Elementary School Student Category)

*In addition, there are Best Work Awards, Excellence Awards, Selected Works, and Honorable Mentions for each category. *If the 'Niigata Manga Award' is selected from the Elementary School Student Category, the 'Children's Niigata Manga Award' will not be awarded. *The 'Niigata Manga Award' will not be selected from the Comicalization Category.
