Cadence and Rapidus Corporation announced on July 17 their collaboration to advance agentic AI for advanced node system-on-chip (SoC) design.
This collaboration combines Rapidus's AI-native design and manufacturing ecosystem for advanced node semiconductors with Cadence's agentic AI-driven design orchestration technology to support design teams in increasing productivity, shortening time-to-market, and improving SoC design quality throughout the entire lifecycle. As part of this effort, Rapidus aims to improve design turnaround time (TAT) by up to 2x.
Regarding the integration of Raads and InnoStack AI Super Agent: With the development of AI infrastructure and the expansion of future systems equipped with physical AI, close system-level cooperative optimization across semiconductors, packaging, and systems is required. Agentic AI plays a critical role in these next-generation advanced SoCs.
In conjunction with this announcement, Rapidus has expanded its Raads product suite with the new Raads Navigator and Raads Indicator. These enhance quality assurance and assist designers in solving design problems and challenges. These new Raads products are integrated with the Cadence InnoStack AI Super Agent, enabling agent-driven design orchestration across key SoC design workflows. By automating and centralizing tasks from initial architectural exploration to implementation and sign-off, and applying data-driven optimization across the design lifecycle, it supports management of advanced node design complexity, improves design predictability, increases engineering productivity, and contributes to the TAT reduction Rapidus aims to achieve.
Rapidus Corporation, CEO Atsuyoshi Koike stated: "Our 'Innovative Integration for Manufacturing' facility will be a state-of-the-art AI-native foundry with AI embedded in almost every step of semiconductor manufacturing. By evolving Raads and integrating it with Cadence's InnoStack AI Super Agent, we are strengthening our AI agent-enabled design environment to handle increasing SoC complexity and improve productivity."
Cadence President and CEO Anirudh Devgan commented: "By combining Cadence's InnoStack AI Super Agent with Rapidus's Raads, we are extending agentic AI to the most advanced semiconductor ecosystem to help customers boost productivity, accelerate design convergence, and bring higher-performance silicon to market faster."
