Japan Polypropylene Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kaname Iijima) has announced its participation in the 'FY2025 Supplementary Budget FS Project for Building a Stable Supply System for Recycled Plastics for Automobiles,' for which Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation was selected as the representative. In collaboration with Takatoshi Kogyo Co., Ltd., Toko Metal Co., Ltd., Refinverse Inc., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Rhombic Corporation, and digglue Inc., with Toyota Motor Corporation (Domatics) as a cooperating company, the project aims to establish a stable supply system for high-quality recycled plastics suitable for automotive use. The project will integrally verify the collection, sorting, recycling, compounding, material design, and traceability of used plastics.

In this demonstration project, our company will be responsible for material recycling feasibility studies, advanced sorting flow reviews, and traceability studies. We will work to identify issues and verify the implementation of collection centers for recycled automotive plastics, thereby promoting the expansion of recycled plastic usage and contributing to the realization of a circular society.

This initiative embodies the philosophy of 'HOPE&LOOPP™,' a brand symbolizing the environmental impact reduction activities of the Japan Polychem Group. Through participation in this project, we will promote the use of recycled plastics across various fields, including the automotive industry, and steadily work toward realizing a sustainable future.
