Nippon Menard Cosmetic Co., Ltd. has discovered that an extract from the Indian herb Bacopa monnieri has a dual effect on collagen quality. The extract not only inhibits the generation of Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs) but also promotes the decomposition of accumulated AGEs. This breakthrough helps maintain the flexibility and function of skin, bones, and joints by preventing the hardening of collagen fibers caused by glycation. The research findings will be presented at the 80th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science in May 2026.
