Background of the Introduction of the Dispatch Project for Nurses and Healthcare Professionals in Laos

In Laos, there are many individuals who hold nursing qualifications but continue to work as unpaid volunteers due to a shortage of public service employment quotas. Public service employment quotas are limited by region, recruitment is irregular, and the number of positions offered is very small.

Consequently, even after obtaining nursing qualifications, many young people are unable to secure formal employment contracts and are forced to work for extended periods as near-unpaid volunteers at local health centers. Some individuals have supported community healthcare as volunteer staff for over ten years, and community healthcare heavily relies on these dedicated people.

However, it is not easy to continue supporting the medical field while maintaining financial stability, leading to a vicious cycle where young people who aspired to careers in medicine are forced to give up their dreams due to economic reasons.

To address these structural challenges, our company has launched a project to officially employ volunteer staff who have been working at community health centers as employees of Nippon Reuse System Co., Ltd., guarantee their salaries, and dispatch them to the Ministry of Health of Laos.

Vicious Cycle of Healthcare Professional Shortage

To solve this structural issue, our company has launched a project to officially employ volunteer staff who have been working at the Non-Vien Village Health Center as employees of Nippon Reuse System Co., Ltd., and dispatch them to the Ministry of Health of Laos. This will create a sustainable system for both parties, where: - The livelihoods of volunteer staff are stabilized through salaries, allowing them to continue their careers in healthcare. - Necessary personnel for community healthcare are secured, leading to the resolution of the healthcare professional shortage.

① Ms. Soikaisee (22 years old) Nurse

● Volunteer Experience: 1 year and 4 months

② Ms. Chantalaï (31 years old) Nurse

● Volunteer Experience: 11 years and 6 months

③ Ms. Entchouda Midwife

● Volunteer Experience: 5 years and 4 months

This employment not only brings new options to their own lives but also holds significant meaning in protecting the future of community healthcare.

Furthermore, in the future, we plan to regularly share their daily lives and activities on the ground through the "Frugal Clothes de Vaccine" Staff Diary (Instagram). We will deliver their growth and changes in community healthcare to our supporters in a "visible" form.

Future Prospects

Our company believes that this initiative is a sustainable healthcare human resource development model that should be expanded throughout Laos, not just limited to supporting Non-Vien Village. We will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Health of Laos and other relevant organizations to expand our business towards realizing a society where young people aspiring to careers in medicine do not give up on their dreams, and a system where community healthcare can be stably continued.

Sponsorship Recruitment

Additionally, we are launching a new SDGs sponsor system for this project, which will feature corporate logos on the signs of health centers under the Ministry of Health of Laos and on the uniforms of nurses and midwives.

We are broadly seeking companies and organizations that can jointly support the sustainable development of community healthcare, establishing a system to back the local medical system as "visible support." Please contact us for details.
