Japan Energy Storage Development Institute (JESDI) (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Akira Hoshino) is pleased to announce that it completed power reception on March 27, 2026, at the 'Kaminara Power Storage Station,' a grid-scale battery project developed in Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture. This project is JESDI's second domestic power reception site, following the Aisho Town Power Storage Station in Shiga Prefecture, and marks the first implementation of a grid-scale energy storage system manufactured by HOBE ENERGY. ■ Installation Overview This power station utilizes a 5ft compact energy storage system from HOBE ENERGY. This represents the first grid-scale track record for HOBE ENERGY and serves as a concrete model for JESDI, demonstrating a new equipment configuration and collaboration framework. Compared to industry-standard 20ft containers, these units are easier to transport and install, making them highly adaptable to sites with narrow access routes or sharp curves, thereby realizing a grid-scale storage model that overcomes land constraints. Furthermore, by completing power reception in approximately four months from the start of construction, the project has demonstrated the reproducibility of a process that enables rapid market entry.
