Tokyo Yakult Sales Co., Ltd. will present the results of its 'gentle monitoring' activities for the elderly, conducted by approximately 1,700 Yakult Ladies who are certified dementia supporters, at the 27th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Dementia Care.

(Tokyo, President Hideto Hasegawa) has been jointly verifying the effects of community-based elderly monitoring activities and dementia care with the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology and the Itabashi City Lifelong Active Participation Promotion Division. At the 27th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Dementia Care, the verification results will be presented in a poster session on Saturday, June 6, and a symposium on Sunday, June 7 will feature presentations on the gentle monitoring activities and related case studies.

Japan is experiencing a rapidly aging society, and the number of people with dementia is expected to increase. To realize a symbiotic society where people can continue to live safely in their communities, a support system involving residents, businesses, and government, in addition to medical and nursing care, is considered essential.
