YOJIYA Co., Ltd. (Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; President & CEO: Takashi Kunieda), operator of the Kyoto-born lifestyle brand YOJIYA, has reopened the 'YOJIYA Saga-Arashiyama Store' on Saturday, August 29, 2026, following a full renovation. The store now unifies its retail space—offering skincare items and lifestyle goods—with its café, which serves sweets and lunch, into one cohesive space. By integrating shop and café, YOJIYA aims to deliver its brand charm more fully to the many visitors who come to Arashiyama. The Saga-Arashiyama location originally opened at its current site in 1999. It underwent a major update in 2003 with the addition of a café, evolving into its current format. Arashiyama is one of Kyoto’s most iconic tourist destinations, and over the years, the store has been cherished by tourists, school trip groups, and visitors exploring the surrounding area. For nearly 30 years, YOJIYA has become a memorable part of travelers’ experiences through its products and dining offerings.

Previously, the store operated with the retail shop and café as adjacent but separate spaces. Despite being part of the same establishment, the divided layout made it difficult for customers to move freely between areas, which became a key challenge. To address this, the renovation eliminates the physical and visual separation between shop and café, creating a unified space where both shopping and dining can be enjoyed simultaneously.

【Renovation Overview】

With this reopening, the previously separate entrances for the shop and café have been consolidated into a single, open layout that enhances customer circulation. The goal is to encourage visitors who come for either shopping or dining to explore and enjoy both offerings.

The store now features a total of 36 seats. By reconfiguring the layout, seating capacity has increased while also creating a more spacious and relaxed atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

Additionally, the store’s exterior has been redesigned to make its presence more visible and inviting. This refresh aims to increase awareness of the Saga-Arashiyama store and attract even more passersby to step inside spontaneously.

To further strengthen customer engagement, YOJIYA operates the 'YOJIYA Members' loyalty program. Until now, points were awarded only for purchases made in the retail shop. Going forward, purchases made at the café will also qualify for points. This means customers can now earn rewards not only through shopping but also by enjoying meals at the café, making time spent at YOJIYA even more rewarding.
