AINEC Co., Ltd. has been awarded the "Tokai City Public Building Lighting Equipment LED Conversion Project" by Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture. This project involves converting the lighting equipment to LED in various facilities within Tokai City, including nurseries, elementary and junior high schools, civic gymnasiums, school lunch centers, children's halls, elderly care homes, fire stations, community centers, the central library, agricultural centers, and final disposal sites. The goal is to complete the construction by the end of March 2027, and the project is steadily progressing. Tokai City's "Tokai City Global Warming Countermeasures Action Plan" sets a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% from FY2013 levels by FY2030. As one of its concrete initiatives, the city aims for all lighting equipment within the city to be high-efficiency by FY2030, and this LED conversion project for the targeted facilities forms its core. In this project, AINEC Co., Ltd. is responsible for surveying and design. While the target facilities are diverse, elementary and junior high schools are key construction sites. The updates prioritize not only energy saving but also "improvement of illumination environment" and "safety measures." For illumination environment improvement, some older schools may not have sufficient brightness with existing lighting. By selecting and updating lighting fixtures that meet the standards based on the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "School Environmental Health Standards" revised in 2018, an environment where children can concentrate on learning calmly will be created. For safety measures, the plan is to replace all pipe-suspended fixtures with ceiling-mounted ones to reduce the risk of falling during earthquakes. In recent years, as natural disasters like earthquakes become more severe, improving the safety of school facilities where children spend their daily lives is an urgent issue, and this project will contribute to its realization. Regarding this project, Mr. Hiroki Watari, Representative Director and CEO of AINEC Co., Ltd., commented: "We will collaborate with local companies to contribute to the promotion of Tokai City's decarbonization project. We will not only pursue energy-saving effects but also deepen our contribution to the local community." AINEC Co., Ltd. will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society and the creation of a safe and sustainable community through the introduction of renewable energy and the promotion of energy saving.
