AKEBONO CO., LTD. (Head Office: Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture, President: Kenichi Hosoda), which develops large-scale renovation projects primarily in painting and waterproofing, will begin full-scale deployment of large-scale renovations with "film thickness tests" to objectively verify construction quality with data, starting July 10, 2026 (Fri).

"Heat-shielding paint," which dramatically resolves heat issues in factories and warehouses, can only exhibit its intended heat-shielding and energy-saving performance when the specified application amount (film thickness) is secured.

Therefore, to eliminate opacity in the painting process, which tends to be a breeding ground for shoddy work, and to protect the asset value of buildings long-term, we have begun full-scale implementation of strict quality assurance through "film thickness tests" in our main large-scale renovation projects.

This service will suppress factory and warehouse roof temperatures by up to 20°C and reduce air conditioning power consumption by 7% compared to general paints. We strongly support companies' heatstroke countermeasures and decarbonization management (GX) in the face of extreme heat with reliable construction quality.

2026 Heatwave Risks and Corporate Cost Burden

In recent years, record-breaking summer heatwaves due to global warming have become commonplace, making "heatstroke countermeasures (improvement of working environment)" in corporate factories, warehouses, and offices an urgent issue.

Furthermore, with energy prices continuing to rise, increased air conditioning costs are a major factor pressuring management.

To address these "environmental" and "cost" challenges, and to ensure reliable construction quality in large-scale renovations, we are launching full-scale deployment of large-scale renovations with "film thickness tests," supported by a management system.

Service Features

1 【Large-Scale Renovations Only】Implementation of "Film Thickness Test" to Maximize Heat-Shielding Effect

Heat-shielding paint cannot exhibit its intended reflective performance or durability if the paint thickness (film thickness) does not reach the specified level.

To objectively guarantee construction quality in large-scale renovation projects, we conduct "film thickness tests (coating thickness measurement)" using a film thickness gauge. We strictly check if the manufacturer's recommended standard values are met, and the measurement data is submitted to the customer as a "Quality Certificate." We completely eliminate shoddy work and guarantee reliable heat-shielding effects over the long term.

(※Spot painting, partial repainting, and minor maintenance repainting are not covered.)

2 Suppresses "Roof Surface Temperature by Up to 20°C" with Superior Heat-Shielding Mechanism

Heat-shielding paint efficiently reflects near-infrared rays, which cause heat.

Compared to general paints, it suppresses the surface temperature of roofs exposed to direct sunlight by up to 20°C, reducing indoor temperature rise and providing a comfortable environment for workers.

3 "20-60% Reduction in Heat Intrusion" by Preventing Heat from Entering the Building

Heat-shielding painted roofs reflect near-infrared rays, reducing "heat intrusion" transmitted through the ceiling into the room by up to 60%.

It exhibits a high heat-shielding effect that fundamentally prevents indoor temperature rise in midsummer, eliminating the stifling heat on the top floor or near the ceiling and dramatically improving the air conditioning efficiency of the entire building.

Future Outlook

Through the full-scale deployment of large-scale renovations with "film thickness tests," we will contribute to improving the working environment of factories and warehouses against the risks of recent extreme heat.

Especially in large-scale renovation projects, we will build strong trust with clients by establishing a strict quality assurance system based on reliable film thickness tests.

Going forward, we will further strengthen our construction system and standardize our technology, expanding to "North Kanto Dominance (2026-27)" and "Greater Tokyo Area Expansion (2028-29)." We aim to establish a "10 billion yen in sales and 200 employees system" by 2031.

While promoting higher employee compensation through increased productivity, we will contribute to corporate decarbonization management (CO2 reduction) through our "Building Regeneration and Heat-Shielding Business," which leads to reduced power consumption and extended building lifespan.

With the social value of preserving the global environment, we will update Japan's industrial infrastructure for the next generation.
