About the Lecture

This lecture was organized by "Sanda Cross," a running team based in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, that enjoys running together regardless of disability. The theme was "Start running for yourself, and finish for someone else." Kazuya Miyazato, a former world champion in 100km marathons who is now active in the disability welfare field, gave a presentation on running and support for people with disabilities.

In addition to Miyazato's lecture, there were demonstrations of foot treatments and walking experiences. The event was not a one-way lecture but an interactive session where attendees could learn how to use their bodies while participating. Children were seen actively moving around the venue, making it an experiential lecture that brought running, welfare, and body conditioning closer to home.

MARINE CORE Introduction and Measurement Experience on the Day

At the venue, Adonis Co., Ltd. exhibited MARINE CORE, introduced the product, and offered foot measurement experiences to participants. MARINE CORE is a functional insole designed to align body and gait balance from the feet up during daily "standing" and "walking" movements, focusing on the structure of the sole and balance during walking.

Approximately 40 people participated on the day, and the majority of attendees experienced measurements at the MARINE CORE booth. The measurements allowed participants to deepen their understanding of their own foot condition and how they use their bodies by checking foot pressure distribution and balance while standing and walking.

Furthermore, Kazuya Miyazato regularly wears MARINE CORE sandals and wore them during his presentation on the day. In his lecture, he explained the differences in foot contact when walking versus running, how to use the ball of the foot and heel, walking with awareness of the pelvis, and the coordination of arm swing and legs, incorporating demonstrations.

Adonis Co., Ltd. has conducted demonstrations of MARINE CORE in settings such as hotels, care facilities, and hospitals, collecting feedback from these sites regarding ease of walking, ease of push-off, stability of posture and core, and foot fatigue. The introduction and measurement experience at this lecture were conducted as an initiative to convey a perspective on re-evaluating body and gait balance from the feet to local residents interested in sports and welfare.

・Comment from Kazuya Miyazato

"I myself have greatly benefited from the evolution of marathon shoes. I had Achilles tendon surgery during my time in the Self-Defense Forces, but the fact that I can still run today is thanks to advancements in footwear, including thick-soled shoes.

On the other hand, the way the foot contacts the ground and how the body is used differs between running and walking. When running, you use the ball of your foot, but when walking, it's important to land on your heel and then shift your center of gravity. Furthermore, by applying firm force to your big toe, it becomes easier to support your body, which leads to stability during walking.

I feel that MARINE CORE makes it easier to be conscious of how you use your toes and big toe during everyday walking. Even in daily walking, your body usage changes when you pay attention to your feet. The points you focus on will vary depending on whether your purpose for walking is weight loss, health improvement, or enhancing athletic performance, but it's important to be aware of your feet, pelvis, and arm swing, rather than just walking aimlessly."

・Naomi Matsui, Representative Director, Adonis Co., Ltd.

"I am very pleased that we were able to introduce MARINE CORE and offer participants the opportunity to experience foot measurements at Kazuya Miyazato's lecture, which focused on running and support for people with disabilities.

MARINE CORE was born from the desire to provide everyone who walks, stands, and moves every day with an opportunity to reconsider their bodies from their feet. We will continue to create opportunities for experience and improve our products so that people can feel the importance of their feet not only in sports but also in daily life, work, and in care and welfare settings."

Regarding Patent Application for Anti-Slip Device Attached Inside Shoes

Adonis Co., Ltd. has filed a patent application for an anti-slip device to be attached inside shoes. This is being developed as a new approach to improve the internal environment of shoes, addressing issues such as the foot sliding forward inside the shoe, instability in the position of the shoe and foot, and discomfort within the shoe during walking.

About MARINE CORE

MARINE CORE is a functional insole designed to align body and gait balance from the feet up during daily "standing" and "walking" movements, focusing on the structure of the sole.

It is designed for everyday use in your regular shoes, featuring a fulcrum structure of the tarsal bones from the ankle to the arch, three-point support on the sole, a round bottom shape that focuses on balance during walking, and a curved surface design for load distribution.

<Joint Research with Kobe University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery>

MARINE CORE has also conducted medical-perspective verification of center of gravity balance and walking stability in cooperation with Kobe University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Verification using walking center of gravity movement data (X-axis RMS) confirmed that the lateral sway width during walking decreased by an average of 33.5% when wearing MARINE CORE.

Past demonstrations in hotels, care facilities, and hospitals were conducted to confirm how MARINE CORE is received in actual settings, in addition to these research and verification efforts.

<Development Background>

Adonis Co., Ltd. has been involved in the planning and manufacturing of women's shoes for many years. The company has continued to make shoes with the philosophy of "what I truly want to wear" and "what would be good if it existed."

The development of MARINE CORE also began with creating something that Representative Director Matsui herself could be convinced of. During the development process, she thought of her mother, who had knee surgery. The thought, "Couldn't I have made a product like this for my mother sooner?" became the driving force to deliver MARINE CORE to more people.

Subsequently, through trials by various people, including family members, employees, and their families, Adonis Co., Ltd. came to believe that MARINE CORE could be an opportunity for a wide range of people, not just those of a specific age or with physical concerns, but also younger generations and those working daily, to become more aware of their feet.
