In educational settings, children's declining 'sitting ability' is an issue, linked to lack of exercise and prolonged tablet use. In April this year, the high-end learning chair 'Ayur-chair' by Ayur-chair Japan Co., Ltd. was adopted for all classrooms at Kichijoji Gakuen Elementary School in Tokyo. Marking its 20th anniversary, the chair recorded about double the sales of the previous year. Priced at around 60,000 yen—unusually expensive compared to standard 10,000 yen school chairs—its patented shape encourages sitting on the two 'ischial bones', naturally helping children acquire an ideal posture. Developed by researching the physical characteristics of Japanese people, it is proven by a third-party organization to deepen breathing, increase oxygen supply to the brain, and boost concentration. At Kichijoji Gakuen, 448 'Study' model chairs were introduced. This marks the first large-scale adoption for all classrooms. Showroom: Harajuku, Tokyo.
