International environmental project aims to re-purpose waste into alternative fuel, targeting a circular economy and CO2 reduction.
Eco-Planning Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, Representative Director: Koken Yoshida) is pleased to announce the full launch of the "CDR (Carbon Derived Resource) Project" in Peru, following the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement with TRANSPORTES S&R S.R.L. (Brand Name: TransVida), a logistics and environmental company in the Republic of Peru, for a business to re-purpose waste plastics and other materials.
The two companies have established a collaborative framework to realize a business that sorts and crushes waste plastics and combustible waste generated in Peru, and re-purposes them into alternative fuel.
This project is an initiative to expand Japanese waste recycling technology overseas, aiming to reduce environmental impact and achieve local resource circulation.
From years of research and verification to the business development phase.
Eco-Planning began market research in Peru several years ago, conducting consultations with local government agencies and private companies, as well as technical verification and business feasibility assessments.
While Peru has seen a rapid increase in waste generation due to recent economic growth, its recycling rate remains low, and improper disposal and illegal dumping have become social issues in many areas.
In response to these challenges, we aim to achieve both environmental improvement and economic development by utilizing waste treatment and re-purposing technologies cultivated in Japan.
This comprehensive agreement marks the first step towards business development after many years of research, planning, and verification.

Market research also conducted at one of Peru's largest environmental exhibitions.
A circular economy model that transforms waste into "resources."
In this project, waste plastics and other materials that were previously landfilled or incinerated will be collected, sorted, and crushed, and then re-purposed into alternative fuel usable in cement plants, paper mills, and other facilities.
This is expected to lead to:
- Reduction in landfill waste volume - Suppression of illegal dumping
- Effective utilization of plastic resources - Reduction in fossil fuel consumption
- Reduction in CO2 emissions
Eco-Planning's promoted CDR fuel has the potential to significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to coal, contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society.
Contribution to achieving SDGs
Main related goals
This project will also contribute to the achievement of the UN's SDGs, primarily goals 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 17.
International contribution possible precisely because we are a Japanese local company.
In recent years, marine pollution from plastic waste and greenhouse gas reduction have become major global challenges.
Meanwhile, the recycling technologies and operational know-how that Japanese local companies have cultivated over many years hold great potential for application in various countries around the world.
Eco-Planning aims to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society by expanding the Japanese circular economy model overseas, not just as a business expansion, but as a company that "contributes to society by solving environmental problems."
Future developments
Moving forward, while proceeding with demonstration and verification within Peru, we aim to commence commercial operations by establishing a collection network for waste plastics, developing a system for manufacturing alternative fuel, and collaborating with purchasing companies.
Furthermore, in the future, in addition to expanding horizontally within Peru, we are considering expansion into the Central and South American regions.
Comment from Representative Director Koken Yoshida
"This agreement signing is a major step forward, finally giving shape to the challenges we have been working on for many years.
We are deeply honored that we, as a local Japanese company, can be involved in solving environmental issues in Peru, a country far away.
We will work with our local partners to build a sustainable system towards the realization of a circular economy that utilizes waste as a resource, and contribute to the balance between environment and economy."
