YPY Education Co., Ltd. (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture / President and CEO Shingo Okazaki), which is in charge of human resource education and training support for the Every Homey Group, will hold a public seminar on August 4, 2026 (Tue) at the Fukuyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry to learn the proprietary communication method "Ape Classification."
In recent years, it is said that communication misunderstandings and relationship problems due to differences in values and individuality are becoming more serious in all situations, such as workplaces, schools, and homes. Since 2009, our company has introduced "Ape Classification" into human resource development, recruitment, and personnel placement within the Every Homey Group, and has been working on organizational development and human resource development that leverages each person's individuality.
Through practical application within the group, we began to receive requests such as "We want to introduce this to our own company" and "We want to incorporate it into organizational development," and in 2012, we also started offering external seminars for companies and organizations. Since its introduction in 2009, over 17,000 people have cumulatively participated, and it has been introduced to over 140 companies and organizations, accumulating a wealth of achievements and knowledge.
This time, we aim to widely return the knowledge cultivated over approximately 17 years within the Every Homey Group to the local community, and by understanding and leveraging each person's individuality in various settings such as companies, schools, and homes, we aim to foster better human relationships and organizational development.
"Ape Classification" independently developed based on animal research at 30 facilities in Japan and abroad
"I want to know people more deeply."
This spirit of inquiry led to the research and development of YPY Education's proprietary communication method, "Ape Classification." The development was triggered when an executive officer of our company, as a psychological counselor, learned about apes. Interested in the characteristics of apes, and with the desire to "convey differences in individual values and behavior more easily," we focused on the commonalities between human and ape behavioral characteristics and began our research.
Subsequently, we visited 20 facilities in Japan and 10 overseas facilities in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Malaysia, etc., for a total of 30 zoos. We observed apes directly, conducted research on papers, and interviewed experts and zookeepers, systematically organizing human values and behavioral characteristics to establish it as a proprietary communication method applicable to real-world situations. During the development process, we built the current "Ape Classification" through repeated verification from both theoretical and practical aspects, with insights from Dr. Yasufumi Nagoshi, a psychiatrist with whom we had exchanges through psychology, from the early stages of development.
"Ape Classification" does not evaluate people based on superiority/inferiority or good/evil. Its purpose is to understand the "differences" in each person's values and behavioral characteristics, and to leverage these differences as mutual strengths to foster better human relationships and organizational development.
"Ape Classification" established through approximately 10 years of research and approximately 17 years of practice
"Ape Classification" was introduced into human resource development and organizational development within the Every Homey Group starting in 2009, and has been continuously improved through approximately 17 years of practice and verification.
By supervisors devising communication strategies tailored to the individuality of their subordinates, it has led to improved motivation and proactive behavior. In recruitment, by conducting recruitment activities based on each person's values and behavioral characteristics, we have reduced mismatches after hiring. In personnel placement, we have achieved many results in organizational development, such as early realization of full productivity through appropriate placement that leverages each person's individuality.
Through these initiatives, we began to receive requests from companies and organizations such as "We want to introduce Ape Classification to our own company" and "We want to incorporate it into organizational development," leading to the start of external seminars and corporate training. Currently, over 17,000 people have cumulatively participated, and it has been introduced to over 140 companies and organizations, accumulating a wealth of achievements and knowledge. This time, we are holding this seminar with the desire to widely deliver the knowledge cultivated over approximately 17 years to companies, educational sites, homes, and many others, and to foster better human relationships and organizational development by understanding and leveraging each person's individuality.
Practical program to understand "individuality" and leverage each other's uniqueness
In this seminar, by understanding one's own ape type, participants will objectively understand their own values and behavioral characteristics, as well as understand the differences in values and behavioral characteristics with others, and learn how to apply these differences to communication in various settings such as workplaces, schools, and homes.
On the day, we will clearly explain communication by type, human resource development, and team-building concepts, incorporating case studies that have been practiced and verified within the Every Homey Group for approximately 17 years. In addition to lectures, through participatory workshops, participants will experience practical communication that understands the individuality of themselves and those around them, and leverages "differences" as mutual strengths.
Through the concept that "differences are not something to be denied, but a value that allows mutual leveraging," we provide "realizations" that lead to respecting each person's individuality and fostering better human relationships and organizational development.
