A-Star Quantum, led by President and CEO Koji Funabashi, has raised approximately 900 million JPY in a Series B Extension round through third-party allotment of shares and loans, with Itochu Technology Ventures (ITV) as the lead investor. The company's cumulative funding has now reached 2 billion JPY.
Since its founding in 2018, A-Star Quantum has been tackling social challenges that were previously difficult to solve, based on quantum computing technology. The company provides its proprietary cloud platform, 'AQCloud,' offering a high-performance environment for large-scale data processing and calculation in preparation for the 6G era.
With this funding, the company plans to focus on three key areas: growth investment for AQCloud, development investment for their unique high-speed database, and strengthening their financial base and hiring.
Investors praised the company's track record in optimizing logistics, delivery, and scheduling, as well as the significant potential of their newly developed high-speed database. The company intends to continue collaborating with partners to drive industrial productivity.
