The JAL Group was selected for 7th place overall in the "4th Startup Friendly Scoring" hosted by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), in recognition of its contribution to revitalizing the startup ecosystem. This is the highest ranking ever achieved in the transportation industry.

This scoring was introduced by Keidanren in 2022 to promote innovation in Japan by visualizing the friendliness and contribution of large corporations, which are key components of the startup ecosystem, toward startups. Evaluations are based on initiatives and achievements in three areas: "resource provision," "acquisition of businesses and human resources," and "spin-off of businesses and human resources."

In collaboration with "A*Quantum," the company has developed and implemented an application to optimize flight maintenance plans using quantum computing technology. Going forward, it aims to improve productivity and create new businesses through company-wide DX promotion, as well as external sales of solutions.

Press release dated May 20, 2026: JAL invests in A*Quantum to drive company-wide DX and business transformation through quantum technology.
