Quaras Inc. (Shinagawa, Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO Yukio Matsushita) has joined as the integrated communication partner for the Japanese release of director Ryusuke Hamaguchi's latest film, 'Suddenly Becoming Unwell' (releasing June 19, 2026). Quaras will support media strategy, advertising, PR, and events to maximize the film's value. Based on the book by Masako Miyano and Maho Isono, the film is set in the Paris suburbs, depicting the connection between a nursing home director and a Japanese director battling cancer. It was selected for the Competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, where Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto jointly won Best Actress. Okamoto is the first Japanese actor to win this award at Cannes. The cast includes Kyozo Nagatsuka and Kodo Kurosaki. The movie is produced by Cinefrance Studios, Office Shirous, Bitters End, Heimat film, and Tarantula, and distributed by Bitters End. Quaras previously partnered with Hamaguchi on 'Drive My Car'.
