Cross Marketing Inc. conducted a survey on fashion habits and awareness in May 2026, targeting 3,000 men and women aged 18 to 79 across Japan. The survey aims to capture shifts in consumer consciousness and lifestyle. This edition focused on fashion, including interest levels, concerns regarding others' grooming, and the impact of appearance.
According to the results, 47% of respondents expressed interest in fashion. The top three concerns regarding others' grooming were related to odors: "strong perfume," "strong body odor," and "bad breath." Furthermore, approximately 68% of respondents feel that appearance affects their interpersonal relationships. When forming first impressions, "speech and language" and "cleanliness" were cited as the most important criteria.
