The 2026 "Local Gyoza Contest," hosted by the Japan Chinese Cuisine Association (a certified public interest incorporated foundation), is a nationwide culinary competition that connects Chinese food enthusiasts and restaurants by combining Japan's beloved "classic Chinese dishes" with regional "locally sourced ingredients."

Two chefs from Chinese Dining Huang He have won the gold prize at the Sapporo branch of the contest. To commemorate their achievement, the award-winning dishes—"Spicy Lamb and Rakkyo Dumplings in Clay Pot with Curry Soup" and "Sweet Corn Dumplings"—will be offered for a limited time, incorporating Hokkaido's rich local ingredients and regional flavors.
