Japan's Largest Class Event, 10,000 Lights to Decorate the Amami Night Amami Onsen Yamato Hanahana Beach Resort (Yamato Village, Kagoshima Prefecture) will hold "Candle Night 2026 Summer" for two days on August 14th (Friday) and 15th (Saturday), 2026.

Last year, this event was held with approximately 3,000 candles and received high praise from many customers. This year, the scale has been significantly expanded, and it will be held as one of Japan's largest candle events, with approximately 10,000 candles and torches illuminating a beach approximately 300 meters long.

Countless lights spread across the Amami seaside as dusk transitions into night. The flickering candlelight, accompanied by the sound of the waves, creates a fantastical scene that can only be witnessed here.

Two Days to Enjoy Amami's Nature, Music, and Culture with All Five Senses

This year, a special live performance will be held featuring Minami Kizuki, a representative singer from Amami, and Marina Hirata, an active Shimauta singer.

The stage will be set up at the water's edge, allowing you to enjoy a fantastical space woven from the sound of the waves, the singing, and the light of 10,000 candles.

Additionally, Amami's traditional performing art, "Hachigatsu Odori," will be performed by a local preservation society. As an experiential program that visitors can also participate in, you can experience Amami's unique culture.
