250 Hospitals Register for 'All-Japan Municipal Hospital Association Data Cloud Service' Within One Month of Launch
Global Health Consulting Japan (GHC) has launched the 'All-Japan Municipal Hospital Association Data Cloud Service,' a new service mainly for municipal hospitals, developed and operated under the commission of the All-Japan Municipal Hospital Association (Zenzibyoukyou) starting April 2025.
We are pleased to announce that 250 hospitals nationwide have registered for use just one month after applications opened.
### What is the 'All-Japan Municipal Hospital Association Data Cloud Service'?
The service is a cloud-based analytical platform that aggregates DPC data, medical receipt data, and financial data to uniformly organize and visualize management and clinical indicators for participating hospitals. It generates monthly management reports for each hospital, including benchmark comparisons, which can be easily checked via a web browser. Optional participation allows for comparisons using actual hospital names, facilitating the identification of areas for improvement and information sharing within hospitals. Registered municipal hospitals can use the service for free.
This initiative aims to promote sophisticated decision-making and is planned to be used for policy proposals and academic research by understanding the actual status of all participating hospitals.
### Background of Rapid Adoption
140 hospitals registered within the first three days of the service launch, and 250 hospitals joined within just one month. This symbolizes the high demand for data utilization among municipal hospitals and indicates that policy proposals using medical big data have entered a practical phase.
In a prior survey of usage intention conducted by the Association, 85% of the 727 hospitals that provided valid responses expressed their intention to use the service.
### GHC's Role and the 'Hospital Dashboard χ ZERO'
As the commissioned development and operation partner, GHC utilized its expertise in hospital management consulting and data analysis technology to build a practical data platform. Hospitals registered for the 'Data Cloud Service' can also use the 'Hospital Dashboard χ (Kai) ZERO,' a hospital management analysis tool provided for free by GHC. We will continue to contribute to the management improvement of municipal hospitals and the sophistication of medical policy through data utilization.
