Furniture Workshop KOMA to Grand Open New Store in Minami Aoyama, Featuring Limited Edition 'Black Jindai-Keyaki' Sofas

Furniture Workshop KOMA, which produces original furniture in Tokyo, will grand open its new store in Minami Aoyama on June 21, 2026. A pre-opening event is scheduled for June 11.

The brand is renowned for the high-end designs of its representative, Shigeki Matsuoka—a recipient of the 'Contemporary Master Craftsman' title who has won over 60 international design awards—and its dedication to traditional artisanal techniques. The new store is located at 1F, 6-3-13 Minami Aoyama, Minato-ku, just 7-9 minutes' walk from Omotesando Station near the 'Minami Aoyama 6-chome' intersection on Kotto-dori.

[Commemorative Limited Sales] To celebrate the move, KOMA is selling special 'black edition' models of its 'relax sofa' and 'rocking sofa' crafted from rare 'Black Jindai-Keyaki.' Jindai wood consists of trees buried for over 1,000 years in volcanic ash or underwater, making it highly valuable. These commemorative pieces feature black wood frames and matching black leather upholstery.
