Saint-Clair Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Yasuhiro Shimomura), a company specializing in the manufacturing and sales of bread and sweets, aims to 'create a town full of delicious smiles through excitement, enriching people and society.' We want to share the taste of that happy feast and the joy we felt back then with even more people — with families, friends, and loved ones. With this gentle intention, we make our 'cream buns'.
This year, to offer customers new value, we are launching summer-limited cream buns on Saint-Clair's official online store. Our popular custard cream products have been reformulated with a unique blend of custard and whipped cream, making them delicious and refreshing even during hot summer days. While previous versions were best enjoyed fully thawed, this revamped version can now be eaten straight from the freezer, as well as in a semi-thawed or fully thawed state — each offering a distinct flavor and texture experience.
Our top recommendation is the 'Rabbit's Bottom'. It's packed with so much custard and whipped cream that it bursts out of the chewy, mochi-like dough. Inspired by our shop's mascot 'Rabbit', it also offers a soft, fluffy touch. Enjoy this cream bun starring luxuriously smooth, melt-in-the-mouth custard.

Developer's Comment
[Yasuhiro Shimomura, President of Saint-Clair Co., Ltd.]
Since its founding as a neighborhood bakery, Saint-Clair has continuously made custard cream in-house. By steadfastly preserving this simple recipe, we've created numerous hit products like the 'Fuwatoro Cream Bun' and 'Gochisou Cream Bun' using our homemade custard.
In 2022, we fulfilled our dream of opening a limited-time custard cream specialty shop, THE CUSTAR. Operating this specialty shop allowed us to further develop products that delight custard lovers. Among these creations are 'Deniro', made with premium custard cream, and 'Incaster', with its melting dough generously wrapped in cream.
Even after closing the limited-time shop, inquiries about custard-based products continued. This relaunch aims to provide customers with more enjoyable and valuable 'summer desserts to crave'. Our entire team has poured their hearts into creating a service that seamlessly integrates into customers' daily lives.
About Saint-Clair Co., Ltd.
We operate bakeries inside supermarkets in the Nishi-Mikawa region of Aichi Prefecture. Since 2010, we've run 'Grand Clair', a standalone street bakery equipped with a genuine Spanish stone oven. In 2016, we established our own R&D lab, focusing on new product development and business expansion as a locally rooted bakery.
Our #1 bestseller, the 'Fuwatoro Cream Bun', sometimes sells 1,000 units in a single day
Since its founding, the 'Fuwatoro Cream Bun' has remained our undisputed #1 bestseller. The soft, stone-oven-baked bun oozes homemade custard from the inside.
With 40 years since the founder's establishment, our dedication to making custard cream in-house since day one led to the 'Fuwatoro Cream Bun' becoming a media sensation and a huge hit when launched at our stone oven bakery. We've continued refining and evolving our custard recipes, eventually realizing our dream of opening a custard specialty shop.
Won gold at the National Curry Pan Grand Prix in 2026
The 2026 revamped 'Shin Okazaki Curry Pan' uses Okazaki's specialty Hatcho miso, adding a unique depth and umami to the curry. It's truly a taste that only local Okazaki can offer.
In 2019, we co-developed 'Appare! Okazaki Curry Pan' with the city as a new local specialty, winning first place nationwide in the gourmet category of the National Furusato Koshien. This year, we revamped the Okazaki Curry Pan again, co-developing the 'Shin Okazaki Curry Pan' with local miso brewery Kakukyu, which won the gold prize at the National Curry Pan Grand Prix.
Limited summer sale: 'Happy Retro Melon Pan'
The 'Retro Melon Pan', recreated from the original recipe at the time of founding, is a melon pan filled with the chairman's love — not just for family, but for customers too. This sentiment continues today in our philosophy of 'creating delicious smiles'.
This summer, we're also offering a limited-time sale of the 'Happy Retro Melon Pan', beloved by our founding chairman. Moving forward, we're focusing on developing original rice-flour breads under the concept of 'Wellness through bread', responding to growing customer interest in health and wellness.
