Rumina Naginana, who graduated from the Takarazuka Revue last year and has since been active primarily in theater, held her first solo live concert on June 21 (Sun) at 'billboard LIVE YOKOHAMA'.
The concert was titled 'Rumina'.
'Rumina' is also the name of her fan club, a coined word combining 'Luminous (light)' and 'Ruumi (Rumina)', born from ideas submitted by fans.
On the day of the concert, which featured both daytime and evening performances,
the venue welcomed a diverse audience, including long-time supporters from her Takarazuka days, fellow stage performers, and first-time listeners. The atmosphere was consistently warm, filled with applause and cheers throughout.
She made a powerful entrance with a KAT-TUN song for the opening. Then, transitioning from Takarazuka male-role numbers to the maternal Marie Antoinette, Naginana captivated the audience with her dignified presence and gentle smile, transforming the atmosphere with expressive power in every song.
The setlist continued with J-POP and a Showa-era enka medley personally selected by Naginana, thoughtfully incorporating both 'Naginana's signature style' and 'new challenges' throughout.
Special guest Kazuya Seto, her junior at Takarazuka and a close friend both professionally and personally, joined her, elevating the audience's excitement with lively conversation and musical sessions.
Additionally, a secret guest appearance featured a father-daughter performance with her father, a former tenor singer.
Coincidentally, the day was Father's Day. As her father sang his first note, the audience erupted in thunderous applause, and Naginana later shared how deeply moved she was by the warm atmosphere.
Live music by a small ensemble—piano, drums, and violin—resonated through the uniquely immersive space of billboard, enveloping the entire stage with rich harmonies that blended seamlessly with Naginana's voice.
Attention to detail was evident in costumes and stage production, creating a symbolic performance that represented a new step as an artist—where the charm of her Takarazuka era and the new Rumina Naginana stood side by side.
Comment from Rumina Naginana:
"When I was first approached about a solo live concert, I felt both joy and anxiety. But I was encouraged by fans saying they wanted to hear me sing, and that gave me the courage to take on this challenge. I carefully curated the setlist to create a warm, enjoyable experience for both longtime supporters and newcomers. I poured my personal passion into the song selection, including Takarazuka numbers, a Showa medley, and my entrance performance. I'm truly delighted to hear such positive feedback."
"Performing with my father was a long-held dream. And coincidentally, it was Father's Day—receiving such warm applause from the audience brought tears to my eyes. Kazuya Seto is someone I can always trust and feel at ease with, and I'm deeply grateful to the band members who supported me so thoroughly. Of course, I was nervous, but I was reminded once again how much fun the stage truly is. This experience also led to a new personal discovery—I might actually enjoy creating things. I'd be happy to take on new challenges like this again."
