CMind Career Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hikaru Kondo) has launched the third phase of its free recruitment suit rental service, "Caricuru," which now includes students graduating in 2028. The campaign began on July 1st.

Previously, the service was only available to students graduating in 2027. With this new campaign, students graduating in 2028 are now also eligible. The first 500 applicants can rent recruitment suits with no additional charges until their job hunting activities conclude.

Service Overview | Lightening Students' Financial Burden with Free Suit Rentals

Caricuru is a free suit rental service that began in October 2018. It addresses the challenge students face in having to purchase recruitment suits, which are typically worn for a limited period, despite the current norm of requiring suits for job interviews.

While recruitment suits are generally purchased, Caricuru partners with "SUIT SELECT" to offer suit rentals at approximately 170 stores nationwide. The service is funded by corporate sponsorships and advertising fees, meaning once a student rents a suit for free, there are no further charges until their job search ends.

The inspiration for this service came from a casual remark by an employee who felt it was a waste to have bought a suit for job hunting that was only worn once at the entrance ceremony. This initiative, born from that sentiment, has gained support from many students, with over 85,000 students using the service in approximately six years since its launch.

With the philosophy that "job hunting should be a 'flat' playing field, unaffected by circumstances," Caricuru aims to continue creating opportunities for more companies and students to connect through its free rental system, working towards eliminating disparities in the job hunting process.

Background for Starting Acceptance of Applications from 28th Graduating Class Students

In this third phase of the free suit rental campaign, including students graduating in 2028 as eligible recipients aims to support students who begin their job hunting activities early.

Recent job hunting trends show a lengthening process due to the normalization of internships and the earlier start of recruitment activities. Meanwhile, the impact of rising prices has increased costs associated with job hunting, such as transportation, accommodation, and grooming expenses. Students from rural areas, who often incur higher transportation costs, tend to face a greater burden.

Ideally, job hunting should be an evaluation based on each student's abilities and potential. However, economic circumstances create disparities in the funds available for job hunting, which often leads to differences in activity levels and choices.

Caricuru has been operating with the goal of alleviating these structural burdens and creating an environment where students can focus on their job search regardless of their economic situation. By including students graduating in 2028 in this initiative, we aim to reach even more students.

Comment from "Caricuru" Operator

While many job hunting support services focus solely on selection preparation, students face "invisible burdens" related to the reality of "what costs how much." Suit expenses, photo costs, transportation fees... each may seem small, but they add up to a significant burden.

Among these, the cost of recruitment suits is particularly high, accounting for up to 40% of job hunting expenses for some students. In our interactions with many students, we have frequently heard concerns like "the cost of buying a suit was a burden" and "I want to proceed with job hunting while minimizing expenses."

A simple question arose from our own employees who are now working adults: "Is it really necessary to pay tens of thousands of yen for a suit that will only be worn for a few years?" This led to the creation of "Caricuru."

We are delighted that with the inclusion of students graduating in 2028, we can now offer this service to an even wider audience. We want students to spend every second they can focusing on themselves, without worrying about suits. With this wish, we will continue this initiative.
