[JR West Hotels] Summer 2026 SDGs Month: As a hotel that lives with the city, what we can do for the future, right now

JR West Hotel Development Co., Ltd. is conducting 'JR West Hotels Summer SDGs Month' at 13 group hotels from World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, through August 31, 2026, covering Cool Earth Day on July 7.

During this period, we provide sustainable menu options using local ingredients and produce that would otherwise be discarded, welcoming guests with hospitality that allows them to experience 'coolness' while contributing to coexistence with our local communities.

[Main Initiatives] ■ Sustainable Menus for a 'Cool' Summer Each hotel plans and offers sustainable menus using regional and surplus ingredients.

Distribution of Sustainable Fans We distribute fans whose frames are partially made from used coffee grounds. The design features fireworks in the hotel's brand colors.

Water-Sprinkling (Uchimizu) On days like Cool Earth Day (July 7), we practice 'uchimizu' to lower temperatures through evaporative cooling.

Energy-Saving Measures By raising the air conditioning setting by 1°C in public spaces, we aim to reduce electricity consumption by approximately 10%.

Employee Initiatives Employees actively practice energy conservation, such as limiting the use of staff elevators and turning off lights.
