Madagascan Action-Adventure Game 'Kalanoro' to Exhibit at Tokyo Game Show 2026! Battle System and Characters Revealed

SEGA Corporation announces that 'Kalanoro,' an action-adventure game developed by Red Raketa Studio and co-published with French publisher New Tales, will be exhibited at the 'Tokyo Game Show 2026' (hereinafter 'TGS2026'), taking place from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21 (national holiday) at Makuhari Messe.

Additionally, information about the game's battle system and characters has been released.

At the SEGA/ATLUS booth during TGS2026, visitors will be able to experience 'Kalanoro' through hands-on gameplay. Those who try the demo will receive an original sticker as a gift. We encourage all attendees to visit the SEGA/ATLUS booth.

About the Battle System

In this game, players can fight using both long-range attacks with the protagonist Kalakery's stretchable hair and close-range combat with weapons. Kalakery's hair can extend freely to attack distant enemies, or grab an enemy and dash toward them, closing the gap instantly for a powerful strike.

Players can also use a variety of unique weapons found across the map—such as frying pans and carrots—to attack nearby enemies. Weapons can even be thrown. Choose the right attack method based on enemy distance and environmental conditions to turn the tide of battle.

About the Characters

Alongside Millie, the protagonist's guide, various characters will appear throughout the journey and join your band. Through base camp interactions, you can get to know the inner lives of these diverse lemur artists. Cook their favorite foods discovered through conversations to strengthen your bonds with your companions.

As your band's popularity grows, you'll earn the chance to perform on a grand stage!

'Kalanoro' is an action-adventure game set in 'Lemuria,' a world inspired by Malagasy folklore and vibrant art. Players control Kalakery, using her hair and various weapons in dynamic combat.
