Seven Payment Service Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Seven Bank, Ltd., has commenced offering its 'ATM Cash Pickup (Cash Course)' service to the city of Maebashi in Gunma Prefecture as of May 1, 2026.
The 'ATM Cash Pickup' service enables individuals to receive cash remittances from municipalities and corporations directly from more than 28,000 Seven Bank ATMs across Japan, bypassing the need for a bank account.
Maebashi City will use national government funds designated for inflation relief to distribute a 'Support Grant for Soaring Food Prices' of 3,000 yen per eligible citizen. Previously, the city faced challenges with bank transfers, which caused delays for residents without bank accounts or for whom the city lacked account information.
The adoption of 'ATM Cash Pickup' allows residents to receive cash at their convenience, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at any Seven Bank ATM, regardless of whether they have a bank account. This solution achieves the dual goals of providing swift aid to citizens and reducing the administrative workload for Maebashi's municipal employees.
Seven Payment Service stated its commitment to further enhancing its services.
