SHIVER Premium 2026: August 8–9, 2026

An electrifying ballet experience allowing you to feel world-class dancers from ultra-close proximity

Watching ballet dancers perform on stage is a completely different experience from viewing it on video. Being in the same space, breathing the same air, allows you to feel how their dancing transforms the world around you, delivering a once-in-a-lifetime emotional connection that cannot be replicated. Taking this live experience one step further is 'SHIVER Premium,' an ultimate ballet performance held since 2019 in an intimate venue with only 80 seats, arranged in a U-shape with just three rows surrounding the stage.

At 'SHIVER Premium,' top dancers from the world's most prestigious stages and rising stars on their way to stardom perform breathtaking techniques from a mere 1–2 meters away—so close you can almost touch them—executing leaps that seem to soar directly above the audience. You can feel their breath, see the glistening sweat, hear the delicate sound of pointe shoes, observe subtle muscle movements, and witness nuanced emotional expressions. The thrilling sensation of experiencing, with all five senses, how these dancers are almost superhuman—and being touched by their artistry—is something you cannot find anywhere else. It feels like watching a rehearsal in a studio, yet the performance is unmistakably real and powerful.

Rare glimpses of dancers’ warm-ups, class sessions, and talks—things you don’t usually get to see

Additionally, before the main performance, 'SHIVER Premium' features a digest of the dancers’ daily training through a class session. The class is taught by the performers themselves. For audience members studying ballet, this offers a chance to observe how top professionals conduct their foundational training and warm-ups—an invaluable learning opportunity. For fans who simply enjoy watching, it’s a rare chance to see the dancers’ unguarded, natural sides during class, discovering insights such as where their incredible techniques are honed or what kind of leotards they wear. The mini-talk session after the performance is also enjoyable, offering a glimpse into the dancers’ lesser-known personalities.

A constellation of star performers

Like the 'Yokohama Ballet Festival,' SHIVER Premium is renowned for its carefully curated lineup, bringing together the world’s top ballet stars and promising newcomers. This year features Mimosa Koike, a prima ballerina of the Monte Carlo Ballet and muse to Artistic Director Jean-Christophe Maillot, who has captivated global audiences; Nozomi Iijima, recognized as a fashion leader since her time with the Houston Ballet and celebrated for her leading roles in numerous productions with K Ballet Tokyo; Mai Higashi, a rising star from the New National Theatre Ballet who starred in 'The Nutcracker' and has been cast as the lead in the upcoming world premiere of 'Lights of the City'; Kari Mizutomo, who has headlined productions such as 'Don Quixote' at the National Opera Theatre of Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, and impressed in Japanese opera performances with her dazzling technique and stage presence; Ryosuke Miwa, a young talent who performed with the Paris Opera Ballet and now shines with the Royal Swedish Ballet; and Ryo Shimizu, who danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and the French National Opera Theatre before joining the Lyon Opera Ballet, known for performing works by cutting-edge choreographers. This year’s diverse cast promises an intense and passionate performance.

'SHIVER Premium' proposes a new way to enjoy ballet. This summer, embrace the special emotion and thrilling excitement—SHIVER—that only such close proximity to artists’ passion can deliver.
