Dixim MP Co., Ltd. (Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture) has confirmed an instance where the lifespan of cutting tools extended by more than two times under casting machining conditions using their 'DK Cryo Process,' which applies cryogenic treatment to metal materials.

Amidst the demand for solutions to rising tool prices, this technology is gaining attention as a cost-cutting measure through the extended lifespan of tools.

[Verification Conditions] Verified under actual mass-production environments (casting material FC250), comparing processed tools without changing processing conditions.

[Verification Results] - HSS Drill: Increased from approx. 500 units to approx. 1,040 units (208%). - Carbide Drill: Increased from approx. 4,000 units to over 8,200 units (205%+).

Technical features include the suppression of chipping and improved machining stability. Verification continues under multiple conditions, aiming to provide this as an option for tool cost optimization at manufacturing sites.
