About the 4th GMO Conference Autumn 2026: Physical AI

The 'GMO Conference' is a major event hosted by GMO Internet Group. The 4th edition focuses on 'Physical AI'—the integration of intelligence such as generative AI into real-world applications including robots, drones, autonomous vehicles, and manufacturing equipment.

### Purpose of the Conference

With the evolution of generative AI, artificial intelligence is no longer limited to processing information in digital spaces. Through robotics, drones, and autonomous driving, AI is evolving into an entity that 'acts' in the real world. 'Physical AI' is gaining global attention as the next-generation industrial foundation, with countries accelerating competition in technological development and social implementation.

Meanwhile, Japan possesses world-class strengths in robotics, precision machinery, and manufacturing technologies. By integrating these capabilities with AI, Japan has the potential to lead globally in the field of Physical AI.

This conference will gather top leaders from government, academia, research institutions, and Physical AI-related enterprises. Under the theme 'Physical AI: Japan's Growth Strategy through Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration,' participants will discuss the initiatives needed for Japan to lead the Physical AI era from industrial, technological, policy, and talent development perspectives.
