Nakashiro Co., Ltd. Rakunoyu Group (Head Office: Moriyama-ku, Nagoya City) will launch its new menu item, "Ofuro-ya-san no Okazaki Mazesoba" (The Bathhouse's Okazaki Mazesoba), on July 11, 2026 (Sat), "Ramen Day," at "Ooniwa-en Rotenburo Okazaki Rakunoyu," which it operates.
The vessel is not a ramen bowl, but a "bath tub," a symbol of a bathhouse.
The price is "1010 (sentō) yen," fitting for a bathhouse.
This new local gourmet dish, born from the bathhouse's unique concept, offers not only delicious flavor but also a playful presentation.
Through this product, we aim to promote the appeal of "Okazaki Mazesoba," a representative local gourmet of Okazaki City, nationwide, and propose a new value: "Sento (public baths) are places to promote local charm."
What is Okazaki Mazesoba?
Okazaki Mazesoba was created in 2012 (Heisei 24) with the goal of making "Okazaki's representative local gourmet" by utilizing Haccho Miso, a traditional industry of Okazaki City, primarily by restaurants within the city.
Under the rules of using Haccho Miso and Okazaki-produced rapeseed oil "Akasui," restaurants freely offer their original mazesoba regardless of genre, such as ramen, udon, or pasta.
It is a representative local gourmet of Okazaki, embodying the desire to promote Okazaki's charm nationwide by "mixing" restaurants together, utilizing the proud regional resource of "Haccho Miso."
A bowl unique to a bathhouse
"We want to deliver an Okazaki Mazesoba that can only be made by a bathhouse."
This is the thought that led to the creation of "Ofuro-ya-san no Okazaki Mazesoba."
Based on the Okazaki Mazesoba certification rules, we use homemade Haccho meat miso, Okazaki-produced rapeseed oil "Akasui," and mala sauce to create an authentic flavor.
Its most distinctive feature is that it is served in a bath tub, the symbol of a bathhouse.
Ramen shops have ramen bowls. So, what does a bathhouse have?
The answer was "bath tubs."
"You can only eat it here." "It makes you want to take pictures." "It makes you want to tell others."
We aimed for a dining experience unique to a bathhouse.
Furthermore, for an additional 100 yen, we offer extra rice (oi-meshi), allowing you to enjoy the remaining sauce down to the last bite.
The price is 1,010 yen (tax included).
It also incorporates the bathhouse's playful spirit, referencing "1010 (sentō)."
Initiative connecting community and future: "Sustena-bro"
This initiative is part of "Sustena-bro," our company's "Sustainable Sento" project.
"Sustena-bro" is an initiative that uses sento as community hubs to promote local charm, culture, and people, leading to regional revitalization.
With "Ofuro-ya-san no Okazaki Mazesoba," we planned to make more people aware of the region's food culture by offering Okazaki's representative local gourmet, Okazaki Mazesoba, with a unique bathhouse concept.
We will continue to connect regional charm and value to the next generation through information dissemination that only a sento can provide.
